4 days and counting

I am on the countdown and getting more anxious everyday. During the visit with my OB/GYN this past week, she overwhelmed me with information and I had a bit of a panic attack. Any advice on how to calm my nerves and how to prepare? I know I need to have this done, but I am a nervous wreck about the surgery. The only time I've been in the hospital was with the birth of my children, and all that was done naturally. I have never been anesthetized.

Re: 4 days and counting

I too am nervous, I will have mine lavh on the 14. I shouldn't have watched the video on youtube!!! My dr told me it will "kinda fall out" That video didn't do anything like that! YIKES! All I can say is they better have some great drugs for me.

Sorry I couldn't help much. I'm freaking here.

Re: 4 days and counting

Ha! NayNay12, I didn't even think to watch a video! :P My Doctor pulled out her little model, and showed me all the places she would have to "cut" around. Lucky I didn't pass out right there in the exam room. I am going to try and keep myself busy this week with cleaning up the house and getting ready for Christmas. Post-op I'm not worried about, I just hope they give me something good Pre-op to calm my nerves. Good luck with your surgery, and I hope all goes well.

Re: 4 days and counting

Thanks, I was fine and dandy till I saw the "other"video! Now I know they will have to give me something to calm me down. I can't drink anything hard before. LOL I really shouldn't have watched the video. Although knowledge is powere but it's like I'm having a baby! I've Never been pregnant so that is scary! I can't even push b/c I will thankfully be knocked out. Now I have to keep myself busy as well!
Good luck keep in touch

Re: 4 days and counting

I do ok with the diagrams that don't look very realistic. I have opted to not watch video because I don't want to freak out. Maybe after it's done I will but not now. Sometimes too much knowledge is a bad thing.

Re: 4 days and counting

Tell me about it. But too late, I just keep looking at different ones. It's the recovery that I'm worried about. Glad my friends will check on me. I'm single have 3 dogs.

Re: 4 days and counting

I agree. I think my doctor gave me WAY TOO MUCH info. Luckily, NayNay, you have some friends to come help you out while you are recovering, and I'm sure your dogs will be much comfort to you. I was blessed to have my husband take some time off, and my kids will be on Christmas break. Though, I may be wanting them to go away so I can rest quietly! LOL
