LAVH: Hello

My surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday, 4/27. I am a little nervous because I have to go in on Monday and have a blood transfusion. I had gastric bypass surgery last June and can't absorb iron like I used to, so it has dropped very low.

Hi! My LAVH is scheduled for May 27th. I had a weight loss procedure last April called "Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy". My blood work has been good, but I just came up anemic. My doctor said I didn't need a transfusion, thankfully. (I don't have malabsorption though.) I've lost 70 pounds and hoped that by losing all of that I'd be able to avoid a hysterectomy, but I've had severe bleeding for several months now, darn it!

Let us know how everything goes, I am having my LAVH on May 12. I have always had low blood iron so when I go in for my pre-op with the doctor we will talk about that. Good Luck! Very nervous also.
