Anyone had an LAVH?

Hello Sister. Just wanted to know how all the LAVH (laproscopic assisted vaginal hyst.) are doing?
I am on day #1 of wk#3 and doing well . I am having some problems with my belly button, where the dr. made one of the laproscopy incisions. I have drainage coming out and it doesn't appear to be healing well. Does anyone else have this problem?

hi...i'm on day # 3, going into wk 4. My incisions healed ok...had a little drainage from the belly button the first week, then it stopped.
Other than that, things are ok...although i will say that today is the first day that i've had marginal pain in my abdomin most of the day...just cramping and pinching and a yuk feeling. The other thing that's irritating is, i still have to wear pads...i have very little drainage...no spotting--but just enough that i need a pad. I've worn at least 1 every day since the beginning of september. Ugh.

I would suggest you call your doctor. I had the drainage also with my LAVH belly-button incision. It is caused by the incision staying open underneath the stitches. The doctor had to open it up, and then I had to clean and pack it daily for 2 weeks. She said that otherwise the wound would never heal underneath. This is pretty common, I've heard. It did heal very well within the 2 week period, and now at 10 weeks it looks as good as the others. I hope this is not the case with yours, but if so, just know that "this too shall pass"! I have a stitch popping up and out and it's red and irrittated and kinda oozy but the nurse said leave it be.

I also had a couple of internal stitches poking thru the abdominal incision at about 5-6 weeks post op and my doctor said to just leave them alone that they would probalby be gone in a week or two.
Sure enough, they dissolved after a couple of weeks. They can be annoying.

I had a lavh/bso August 9. My doctor used glue on my incisions so they healed good. The glue was gone by my two week checkup. I am still having trouble with my bladder. I have days when I feel like I have to go to the bathroom all day long! There is no pain just the urgency! Does anyone else have this problem?

hi, i had a LAVH/BSO with bladder repair also,, my main problem, even after 3 months is pain with sex. My dr. so "kindly", NOTTTT made me tighter which i really didnt need. It is veryyyyyyy uncomfortable and doesnt really make u wanna make love at all. Im hoping time will help this,, i feel like a virgin,, every time i have sex,,, wow,, im 2 old for that,,,good luck,,,
