Hormones-Kept Ovaries

I am 3 weeks post-op from my TVH (kept ovaries), and based on my path report, am starting to do a little research. I had my procedure due to a thickened endometrial stripe (17mm) and slightly enlarged uterus (path report said 115 grams).
My path report read "disordered proliferative stage endometrium). After reading up on all of this, it appears that overproduction of estrogen causes this. Now I am wondering if I should have my hormone levels checked. Other issues I deal with are moodiness and difficulty losing weight even when working out and eating healthy. I have never had my hormone levels checked which seems odd to me now. I will certainly be addressing these issues with my doctor but my post-op isn't until August, so I thought I would see if anyone else has dealt with these same issues.

Have you talked to your doctor about your concerns? My hormone levels have never been checked, just my FSH to see if my ovaries were functioning or not. Not all doctors find it helpful to check actual specific hormonal levels as we don't all feel the same at the same levels. Rather, some doctors treat according to symptoms only.

If you have concerns, make a list of all of your questions so you can sit down and talk to your GYN and your appointment. If you don't receive the answers you need, talk one of your GP.
