Re: Best vitamins for after?
I take a calcium chew that taste great, twice a day, folic acid, and magnesium twice a day too. I had debated the Silver as well, but at the time I was looking, I wasn't sure if that would work since I am 31. But it's true....no matter the age, our body is now more similar to that of someone older going through menopause the natural way. I am thinking of getting that so that I don't have to take what I'm taking separately. I just have one thing to make sure it doesn't have: aspartame. I threw away my old vitamins once I noticed they had it.

Re: Best vitamins for after?
Veolynn,
For Calcium, try Calcium Citrate (not to be confused with Caltrate). Calcium Citrate is easier on the digestive system.

Best vitamins for after? (2009)
I have studied synthetic vitamins vs whole food vitamins. Centrum melted into a coal -like substance when placed in an oven. When dropped into a glass of water with a bit of vinegar, Centrum stayed solid for hours. Whole food vitamins dissolved right away. Go to any health food store and ask for help finding while good vitamins. Your body will thank you!

Re: Best vitamins for after?
Hi - several friends that have had a TAH swear by Andrew Lessman's (HSN) Women's Ultimate Wellness and Evening Primrose with black currant seeds. I ordered and received today! Took my first vitamins tonight. My surgery is scheduled for 11-11-13 and everything is coming out including ovaries. I also have been taking at least 600 D plus Caltrate "horse" tablet per day. I am 55, birthday on the 22nd of November. I am not going to have HRT (oh boy) so I will keep you posted on how it goes after the 11th! Hope everything is going well for you!

Re: Best vitamins for after?
I took vitamin a and c. also homeopathic arnica for bruising and sweddish bittersTo keep my system clean and the liver function optimal. Calendula ointment as soon as the scar was closed to ensure a speedy recovery. I also eat alot of pinneaple forinflamation as well as supplemet with turmeric. Feeling quite good after two weeks...not ready to run a marathon ...yet...but i'm vegan and this together with juicingand all the great herbs keeps me getting well quite rapidly.

Best vitamins for after? (2009)
Hi! Just read your post and what you're trying sounds different and interesting! Can you please share a bit more? What are Swedish bitters? How about pineapple - do you just eat lots of fresh? Is the turmeric in a capsule or just sprinkled on food? Thanks!

Re: Best vitamins for after? (2009)
My internal medicine doc says we should be paying attention to the different types of calcium and magnesium, as they are not all absorbed well in our bodies. She suggested calcium citrate +D rather than calcium carbonate for better absorption. I like the slow-release ones so I only have to take it once a day. Magnesium glycinate is more bio-available than the sulfate kind, according to my doc---and I know she does her research. Check it out on the web for further validation. There is a lot to consider with supplements, and I often feel like I'm just winging it and no one REALLY has it pinned down as to what we should all be taking. How does each one interact with my meds and foods? Should a smaller woman take a smaller dose? How do I know the supplement is high quality? Which of the hundreds of supplements do I really need personally? Are any of them actually helping keep my brain healthy? Where are the coupons to save money on these expensive things?!?! And so it goes.....A friend has even scoffed at me, saying I'm throwing my $ down the drain buying a bunch of pills. I disagree, and will continue to be curious and seek information and take the supplements that seem logical for my body. I recommend doing your research!

Best vitamins for after? (2009)
Hi again....I'm replying to my own post here--ha!
Just a quick addition about magnesium. If u can find the glycinate or orotate versions, these are two which are more readily absorbed and should be taken to help your body absorb your calcium better. Crazy, eh?
