My period will beat my hysterectomy by 2 days (surgery 5/12)

Wow! 6 is early! Well I have mostly good to share. I hurt like crazy yesterday and spent alot of time finding a comfortable position. Slept mostly alright. They took out a 2.5 lb tumor. The Dr. said The tumor was really hard so she had to make the incision bigger than she expected. She also found more tumors on and in my uterus. So happy to have all that OUT!!!
Today started rough, but now I feel awesome! I'm kinda tired and have gas pain. But I'm walking like normal, and the insicion doesn't hurt. I was walking around the hospital in two hospital gowns with a corset on top. Quite a fashion statement. 5 min ago I got to leave the hospital!

My period came 2 days before my TAH. I freaked out thinking that I may have to postponed the surgery. I took the advice from my Dr to take my medication to ensure I don't bleed too much. I was glad the surgery was over and I am into 4th week post op recovery. Hang on there!

My period beat my hysterectomy by 9 days (surgery date: May 40) Cramps are really bad, I can barely walk and flowing super heavy...I had to come home from work today! But there is a bright side to my pain and misery...this will be the last period I'll ever have!!! Feel better soon!

You are coming up soon! Good for you! I'm post-op by 10 days and feeling pretty good. I'm so happy about this decision! No more periods EVER again! Also I havn't even had any discharge so no pads to get bunched up during recovery. Watching the TV is awesome, every time a birth control commercial with its three thousand side effect warning come on I smile gleefully. Whenever a tampon or pad commercial with happy dancing women who aren't afraid of leakage come on I almost cheer. I don't have to buy anything from those liars ever again! (Ahem, sorry, rant anyone? )

I was on when I went in for my LAVH and I was singing and dancing as I walked down to the theatres! My student nurse who escorted me down thought I was mad so I said to her I have had periods since I was 9, I am now 47 and a half and I will have no more!

Happy to know you're doing good on your road to recovery! I'm starting to get nervous but I keep reminding myself...no more periods!! YAY
