Pain during ovulation- adenomyosis?

I'm scheduled for dVH (complete, keeping ovaries) in 2.5 weeks. I am ovulating now and I'm sooooo uncomfortable. Pain meds are doing nothing to help. Ovulation is always the most painful time for me. I'm hoping this will all go away once my uterus is removed. I have a history of adhesions, but now my doc is thinking adenomyosis. Anyone else feel the worst during ovulation?

Re: Pain during ovulation- adenomyosis?

I do get ovulation pinching. Never had it untill around age 40. one ovary is swollen and hurts alot, other one is pinching and pulling alot of the time. I am,not keeping ovaries. I go in for surgery in three days, it's all coming out. I want nothing more than,to remove my issues of something always flaring up in there.

You realize you will still ovulate without uterus right ? Be aware, ovaries have a function all of their own.

Re: Pain during ovulation- adenomyosis?

Yes, I am aware of that! Ha! But supposedly, if I do have adenomyosis, the majority of the pain will go away once my uterus is out. That's what I'm hoping anyway!! My doc wants to leave ovaries for now. If I continue to have pain, he'll remove them later.

Re: Pain during ovulation- adenomyosis?

But, if you're having severe pain at ovulation, that's only going to go away either after menopause or if your ovaries are removed earlier.

Re: Pain during ovulation- adenomyosis?

Canna: maybe write down your ovulation times down on calendar. This way after surgery you can know when it's coming and be prepared to analyze if it's ovary pain or pain from surgery.
Best of luck !!!!

Re: Pain during ovulation- adenomyosis?

My doc believes I have adenomyosis as well. My pain seems focused on when my cycle is due. My surgery is next month. Currently on meds to keep cycle away but I'm 100% aware of when it would have been here based on pain level. Best wishes for you this ends your pain and hope to be following in your footsteps!
