I'm so upset & angry right now
How did she find ou in first place. If no one knew and it is managerial indiscretion then I would be raising it strongly with them. If you shared that information with anyone and it is now in the public forum then that is a lesson for you to learn.
I don't mean to sound harsh but I work in an office where there is a lot of scaremongering and gossip. When I was told I needed my op and another one six weeks later, I told the management so they could prepare cover and took the decision to tell my colleagues too (the men were told a major op with an absence of approx 8-12 weeks. That way it was out in the open and I didn't have to worry about it slipping out or people guessing and speculating. Personally any other org I worked with, it would have been between me and management but cultures are different and the result is that everyone understands and there has been no comments made.
I have been in your situation and found if hurtful and upsetting so this time I took a different approach and it worked.
People like that are nasty, rise above it and ignore it
