4 weeks post hysterectomy - still in pain

I am four weeks out and still in pain every morning and late night. Two weeks after surgery I had an abscess rupture and bled really really bad. I am wondering if something is wrong. This is worse than my c-section!

Re: 4 weeks post hysterectomy - still in pain

I am sorry to hear you're still in pain! In my opinion, a c-section and a hysterectomy are not a fair comparison. They are different surgeries, and with a hysterectomy a major artery is severed, the end of the vagina is sewn shut, connective tissue is severed and ligaments severed and moved. It's a lot to heal from!

Your profile doesn't indicate what type of hysterectomy you had, but here is an article that speaks about
C-Section vs. Hysterectomy

I was also still in pain at 4 weeks. Since you have had complications with recovery, it may take a little longer to heal. But if you are feeling like your pain level is higher than it should be or that something isn't "right", please call your doctor. I am sending hugs with the hopes that you feel better soon!
