When do you find out if you dont Pass Pre admission?

I had my pre op on monday 01/07/2013 they did blood work and EKG and tested my blood pressure... and I have read other people talk about their surgery postponed... would I have found out by now if mine was going to be postponed? I just want to get this over I cant take the back pain anymore and the anxiety of waiting is killing me

Well most blood labs are back in 3 days ekg is right away as well as blood pressure. It depends on who did your pre op and how long it takes to get to your doc doing surgery, I would call monday to easy your mind as they should know then!! Waiting is the worst!

I am worried because when I went in for my pre op appointment I was on my period... and on top of that my blood pressure was high... they tested it a couple of times because I left and it had come back down to normal ranges.. so I think im ok there.. and he said EKG was perfect... but since I was on my period I wonder if the blood work was ok.. because I am ALWAYS weak on my period

Its hard to say, I believe they are checking your iron, and cell count. like I said call monday and ask. Also you possible had high blood pressure due to nerves from doc visit. Ask them next time to do it the old way manually, believe it or not there is a difference in the reading. Keep your head high, if there is something wrong with pre op then best to wait. But if their isnt they will say.

I think they call pretty quick if you did not pass for some reason. I would otherwise assume no news is good news. Just keep following your pre-op instructions, and show up at the hospital when you are told to.

For me, I had my pre-op appointment, with all the medical testing and hospital paperwork, about six days before my surgery. I never heard a peep out of anyone regarding results.

I was previously scheduled for a hyster back in Sept of last year. Had my preop on a Thurs, I called the following Wed, Thur and Fri to see how my labs were since I was very anemic to start with. Nurse said Dr. would have to talk to me. Dr. finally called back late Friday. My daughter was home to take the call (I was on my way home from work), Dr. told her that there was "nothing out of the ordinary" about any of my preop. Mon about 12 noon, day before surgery, nurse called said my ekg was "borderline" and I needed to get my pcp to check it out. WTHay??

I would call if you have any doubts, just to ease your mind.
