3 months post hysterectomy (procedure unknown)

Hi, I am 52 yr. old woman and had a hysterectomy on Dec.16, 2014. I needed the surgery due to painful and extremely heavy periods, the doctor tried to wait for me to go through menopause but it never happened, so we did the surgery, after surgery I stayed in hospital 2 days, then I stayed in bed or on couch for the next month. Rent plenty movies and get comfy, restis the best remedy to getting well quick.
The doctor told me that he could only remove my uterus and fibroids(3 large ones) and had to leave in ovaries since they were too hard to find in my large utuerus. It actually is better this way, I wont go into menopause so quick. I did not wear any type of garment to hold my stomach in. ( I wish I had though ). Also, I have read people saying they have pain on left side, well whwen I went to gyn they said it's normal, but when I went to GP, they explained that it's my bowels on left side and it's normal to have hardness and discomfort, he said have a high fiber diet and gave me pills if I dont poop in 3 days.
Ayway it's month 4 and I feel good but now I am getting a pain on left side like I pulled a muscle and boy when it comes it hurts. I gotta make another appt. and find out what that is, the GP says inflammation but I want to ask GYN.
