Week 3 post hysterectomy and still feeling blah. Tell me it gets better!

I'm 3 weeks out from a DaVinci hysterectomy. Doing my best to lay low, drink a ton of water and not lift or twist. Still low energy, swelly belly, abdominal pain where the incisions are and the worst headache I've had in my life! I'm off all pain meds except ibuprofen. I know I over did it on a few days ago (driving, picking up the kids, doing errands) so I've been resting since then. I'm just so surprised and mostly discouraged that I don't feel better yet. I'm a very active person and used to being very self reliant so this is VERY hard for me.

Week 3 post hysterectomy and still feeling blah. Tell me it gets better!

I'm almost 3wks davinci and I completely understand. I feel like I've had a pretty good recovery. I still swell like a tick every afternoon, have headaches, occ hot flashes, feel fatigued, and have put on a few pounds. I want so badly to be able to just get back to my life...well actually enjoy a new life free of cancer and pain.

I take solace in knowing I haven't had any bleeding since day 2, no infections so far, and hopefully there will not be any unforeseen complications. Keep reminding myself to be patient and careful with my body and health. A little extra rat time now could be the difference between a normal recovery time and a trip back to the operating room.

Prayers for a speedy and uncomplicated recovery!
