Blood Clot Anyone Else?

Hello there on MAy 15th I had a venogram done to try to block my pelvic veins so that they would stop filling with blood and causing me pain. They went in through my jugular vein in my neck and then cathed down to my pelvic veins. Now I have a blood clot in my jugular vein and I had an ultrasound done yesterday and have to wait 2-4 days for the results. Anyone else have this happen I am a little bit scared because I know that that is a main vein that takes blood away from the brain. Thank you

Hi happywoman Wow, I am sorry this added complication is happening to you. Does the DR think the clot was a result of the venogram procedure or was it always there? Or could there be another cause?

Have they referred you to a hematologist to check for clotting disorders, and potentially to give you something to dissolve the clot, or do they believe that just watching it is the best course of action for you?

Hello surferbabe they do believe that the clot was from the venogram. Right now I am in a wait and see stage. I am waiting for the results of the doppler ultrasound right now and then I will know more. They are concerned also because my mother has had a history of blood clots in her lungs. Thank you for your support and I will update you when I know more.
