Grrr. People are irritating me with hysterectomy/surgery comparisons
I am so lucky I don't have to work with people. I would have flipped. I am terrible with holding my tongue. So many people truly, truly suck.

Re: Grrr. People are irritating me with hysterectomy/surgery comparisons
It must depend on which surgery you have. I had dvh and my recovery has been faster and easier than my niece and my friend's c-sections. I've had no pain, have not needed any narcotics, and I'm up and about with my normal activities. My niece had her hysterectomy in feb. And has been doing marathons and hard charge runs already.

Re: Grrr. People are irritating me with hysterectomy/surgery comparisons
Everyone is different. Every surgery is different. It depends on so many factors. How much cutting, how much bleeding, the reason for surgery, whether there is a vaginal cuff, health before surgery, other personal health/healing factors, what all was removed, adhesions, in foreseeable complications, med reactions....the list goes on and on.
And that is why people should never assume, put down, condescend to or compare when it comes to this surgery - or anything really.
I am almost 6 weeks and still laying down A LOT.

Re: Grrr. People are irritating me with hysterectomy/surgery comparisons
I sooo relate! If I had the energy I would actually be mad. I'm very frustrated with my family and friends. I either am told how their c sections were way worse ( sorry, no way), or I get this attitude from them that I should be better already. My mother-in-law is the worse, ugh! She keeps asking if I'm back to work yet, (there's no way, I can't even drive yet) and she constantly tells me how her vertical incision she had over 50 years ago was way worse than my horizontal incision... its ridiculous- I would never treat someone like this.
I feel isolated right now. Thank God for all of you!

I feel exactly the same way... people are clueless. I too have only had a few texts... i want to say something, but it would probably just backfire.I have to believe that people just don't get it.

oh LOL... I am laughing so hard, my belly is killing me! your response is priceless...I'm glad to laugh for a change, rather than be so sad or mad. I'm gonna remember this the next time someone else wants to know why i'm not back to work yet bright eyed and bushy tailed!
