Swelling "down there" and I'm not talking about my belly

I am sorry if the is TMI - so you may not want to read on. But where else, before I call the doctor, can I talk about this?
So two nights ago, I noticed that my vaginal area was swollen (sorry, this is the TMI part) and it was uncomfortable to sit. I felt fine the next morning, but by the evening, everything had swelled up again and it was just uncomfortable to sit. Today, same thing after sitting for awhile. Anybody else having this problem? I had an abdominal hysterectomy with cervix and ovaries, etc. removed. Could this be my vagina having nothing to hold it up and it is falling down? Should I call the doctor? Ugh, everything else seems to be healing so well. Shoot.

Swelling "down there" and I'm not talking about my belly

Hello. I am so sorry to hear about your discomfort and the situation you are facing. Might I ask if you changed your laundry detergent or water or dryer softener recently? The perfumes in these products are really quite strong, and they can cause irritation. If you have made no changes in the products touching your skin, then by all means it seems as if this is something your doctor needs to know about. At about 2-3 weeks out, my internal stitches broke, and part of my interior started trying to come down what was left of my space inside. Along with the discomfort, I noticed a powerful, rotten odor. Especially if you have these symptoms, please get that call in soon. But perhaps get it in, in any case, so that they can rule out any surgical matters causing this distress.

You poor thing. You deserve a break at this point! I so know what these additional complications, right when one is trying to heal, can feel like -- both physically and emotionally. Enough already, for you!

I hope someone else comes along who has experienced this and can talk with you some about it. Best wishes to you this evening.

I had the same thing. Mine turned out to be swollen glands. VERY uncomfortable. I was given a special steriod cream and the Dr. said it could take 2 months to resolve. I am feeling a lot better now and it's been about 4 weeks since I was diagnosed.
