Upcoming hysterectomy 8/12

Its been a couple months since I scheduled surgery. It's on this wed. My nerves are pretty shot right now. I've been an emotional wreck the past week. Having 2nd thoughts, contemplating calling and cancelling or rescheduling. I've been trying to stay busy, and I keep reminding myself why I'm having it done in the first place. The end of last week was the worst. As luck would have it, pain waw awful this weekend. I had to take vicodin. It was a good thing though. Put me in the right frame of mind. Wed can't come soon enough.

Re: 2 days

I had second thoughts right up to the moment I walked into the hospital to be admitted that morning. But I have had no regrets and I'm 8 weeks post op from a TAH. Every day I feel better and think this surgery has and will continue to change my life for the better! Good luck this week! I think you are right, there is a reason why you have had this surgery scheduled so don't lose sight of that even though your nerves may get in they way.

Re: 2 days

I agree with Sarrie22, I had second thoughts until they wheeled me into the OR😐
.
Recovery wasn't the smoothest I've experienced, I'm one year post op and thankful for the surgery that I'd been putting off for years!

Relax and take it one day at a time.

Re: 2 days

Hi mistpete -

Having second thoughts is normal, as well as all of your emotions, fears, nerves and feelings. This is one tough surgery to face and to digest.

I remember about 4 days before my surgery, I had a major freakout!

It will soon be behind you. Just keep staying busy as possible.
