Vaginal Itching/Burning + Stitches question.

I had my surgery 3 weeks, 5 days ago.
It was supposed to be a LAVH, but because there was too much endo, and my vaginal opening was too small, they had to switch it over to a TAH about 3/4 of the way through.
Things have been difficult overall since then, but a new problem has suddenly come up.
Since yesterday I have had terrible, almost unbearable vaginal itchy & burning, and a bit of light yellow discharge, but no odor at all.
I thought maybe it could be a yeast infection, but the discharge doesn't seem like one.
I am going to call my doctor tomorrow, but in the meantime, has anyone else experienced this, and any suggestions for coping with the severe burning/itching?
Could it have anything to do with the stitches coming out? Or should they have come out already? I don't know when the stitches usually come out, but I feel like they should have come out already...

Re: Vaginal Itching/Burning + Stitches question.

Great on calling the doctor. I had a TAH and I (assuming you are talking about internal stitches) do not remember seeing, feeling, etc. stitches coming out at all.
Hope you are feeling better soon,
HUGS TO YOU

Re: Vaginal Itching/Burning + Stitches question.

I mean vaginal stitches. I don't really know much about it, but the doctor told me I had stitches in my vagina, and they would eventually come out on their own.
Do you normally get vaginal stitches with TAH? Or just with the LAVH? She said something about stitching that area because they started with the LAVH, so I'm not sure!
I guess I still have a lot of unanswered questions I should probably write down and ask my doctor!

Re: Vaginal Itching/Burning + Stitches question.

I am so sorry you are experiencing this "unpleasantness". I had the TAH too and my roughest weeks were the 3rd and 4th. I had totally new vaginal pain and well as aches and twinges in my entire pelvic area.
Until you get a hold of your doctor, you might experiment with heat and cold. I preferred a cold ice compress on my stomach area while other sisters find a heating pad far more comforting. Also make sure you are taking your pain medication on schedule, to better manage your pain before it gets worse.

Feel better soon.
