autologus blood donation before surgery

So,
I called my doc and asked him if I could make an autologus blood donation (self donation) before surgery, this is what he said. it is very risky and surgery would have to be postponed 2 months so I can make more platelets and all.
also asked him about whether I am a really good candidate for a hyster or just a good candidate, lol I know it sounds silly.
he said that I was a really good candidate because of my bleeding history and the pain and everything.

I too was told I would have to postpone surgery if I want to have a pre-operative autologous donation. Since my surgery should be relatively simple, and the chance of needing a transfusion is low, I chose to have surgery sooner without the blood donation.

yeah my doc said the same thing, I am having a TAH/BSO but he said the chance of me needing a transfusion is also low so I opted to keep my date with the castle.
