A question to the British

Hi all
Mrs Nansee My private care didn't cost anything extra as our private insurance covered the cost! Yay! However, my GP at the moment charges me for everything even to get a note for my workplace and she is the one who saw me initially! I started going to her because she was local and new and decided to encourage business development in the community. She is not really that interested and she specialises in women's medical issues! Hmmm. Think it is time to change. Longing for better care.

A question to the British

I have private health cover through work so was able to get my GP to refer me privately.

The hospital staff were great, except for one night nurse, surgeon very attentive for the first 2 days post op, physio's amazing. I was discharged with quite comprehensive post op instructions and a phone number to call in case of any questions. I was seen my the surgeon at 7 weeks post op but she was very surprised by my list of questions (gained from here) & claimed none of her patients ever have questions!

My GP has been very understanding through out the whole process and I have always been able to get in to see her when I want. Sick notes for work were never an issue, we have talked through the HRT and made 3 changes so far I will be going back in the next month for a further change as I am still suffering from sweats later in the day & through the night.

All in all, I consider myself to have been very lucky to have received the treatment I have had.
