feeling better

I'm learning to keep a positive attitude. I occassionally get the idea I don't want to go through with the surgery, but the idea is then followed by uterus pain which I don't want any more of, and the excitement of getting my LAST period has me looking forward to that in 10 days.
I passed one major hurdle on Tuesday. Here we absolutely have to enter O/R without any jewellery. I've never had my wedding band off ever in 30 years 3 months. Guess what, it wouldn't come off. Then Tuesday evening I felt a bit chilled and my fingers felt contracted, so I tried and off it came. A very tramatic event for me, and it will be away at a goldsmith for over a week to get sized and claws redone.
I met an aquaintance who has been through major spinal and other surgeries after an accident in June. He's learning how to walk again. If he can do all that I have to be brave enough to get through this.
Thank you to all who write to this forum with good post op news. You are great, and everytime I read one I feel more capable and less scared.
God bless all of you,
Sapphira

I am glad you are hanging in there. It is a tough time before surgery. Alot of emotions. hang in there. I was a nervous up until the surgery. just kept convincing myself the pain will be gone and could not wait for that. But you are as strong as you will yourself to be and to me you sound like a pretty strong person. To be able to look at someone elses problems and see that if they can do that then you can do this is a strong trait. Keep that trait. My prayers are with your through your surgery. Hope all goes well. Let us know.

That a girl, keep the positive attitude. I am in nursing, and whenever I feel low about something I think about someone at the nursing center who is very ill, it always puts me in check.
I have had other abdominal surgeries and have come through in flying colors, Yes, there was pain, but it's abdominal surgery, and everyday as you heal, you will feel better.
I want to wish you all the best, and that you may have a speedy recovery, you are in my prayers, take care, God bless.
