Upcoming surgery 12/9: Anybody had a Minilaparotomy Hysterectomy ?

Hi all sis, I'd like to know if any of the sis had a "Minilaparotomy Hysterectomy" method ? How is it performed ? How long was your cut/stitches ? And how was your recovery ?
I was diagnosed with "Endometrial Hyplasia with Atypia" plus large fibroid and large 15 cm uterus, I am having my uterus, fallop. tubes, ovaries removed and cervix is staying. I have not heard of this method often as with other methods, but my Dr said it's a "hybrid" of the Abdominal Hysterectomy, where the cut is shorter than the orig. Abdom. Hyst. and since my fibroid & uterus are large, so this method is better for my condition.
I am having my Hys. in 3 days, still very scare and nervous any feedback is greatly appreciated

I have not heard of your surgical procedure before.

All of your emotions, fears, nerves and feelings are very normal. This is a tough surgery to face and digest. The doctors and nurses will take very good care of you. They will watch over you and monitor you very closely. Probably at no other time are you the center of such attention.

Keep yourself very busy and distract yourself with favorite DVDs. Also, treat yourself to something special that does not violate your doctor's orders. Maybe a or an or an outing with friends .
