New member, hyst scheduled (endo patient)

I am 29 yrs old and have been diagnosis with Endometriosis, HVP, & 2 Very large cyst on my left ovaries.I have had so many abnormal paps, and cryotherapy many times. I am scheduled to have a complete Hysterectomy Sept 17th, 2008. I am in pain all the time whether I am menstruating or not. I have a very highly recommended Doctor and I'm not worried about the surgery itself but the after affects of the surgery. I have only Been married for about 1 year, and enjoy our sex life very much, when i'm not in pain. My main concern is that my sex drive will leave with all my female organs. I also worry about the affects of hormone replacement. Please Help.... I am stressing about all of this. I know my husband loves me with or without sex, and we have so much more to our marriage but i am truely worried about it. can somebody give me some good feed back on this. Thank you so much!!!!

Are you going to have both of your ovaries removed? I checked your profile and it doesn't say. If so, you will go into surgical menopause. Surgical menopause symptoms can be treated with hormone replacement therapy. Does your doctor plan to put you on HRT? Sometimes, HRT is not given to endo patients.

Most patients find that if their sex life was good before surgery, it will be good afterwards...once all of the post-op healing and recovery has taken place, of course.
