Terrible muscle aches

I really need some advice. I had a TAH on May 19th. I ended up bleeding internally and had two coil embolisms to stop the bleeding. That left me with 2 large abdominal wall hematomas to absorb. My Uterus and cervix removed, kept ovaries but they went to sleep and never woke up. I am now on Vivelle Dot. For the past month I keep getting really bad muscle aches in my stomach area and my legs mainly. They are now starting in my back. This started before HRT and I thought maybe that was the reason. HRT has greatly improved the hot flashes but still have the muscle aches. Ibuprofin does nothing. Currently taking Tramadol. Just had another CT scan and the hematoma is gone, and Dr. said everything looks fine in there. Said that probably scar tissue from surgery has formed and that is causing the abdominal pain. No one can seem to tell me why I am getting such terrible muscle aches. I am now starting to get headaches as of the last 4 days as well. I can't sleep at night. I toss and turn like crazy. I wake up in pain and I go to bed in pain. Also, I know this is graphic, but my whole digestive system is off as well. Not complete diarreaha but close to it every time. Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on. I feel so hopeless now that the CT scan came back normal. I really thought it was the hematoma still causing pain but no go. Any thoughts out there would appreciated so much. I'm so tired of hurting. Thanks ladies.

Re: Terrible muscle aches

I'm really sorry you're having so much trouble. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be at this point. I would tend to agree with the dr. that it's scar tissue (adhesions) that might be causing the problem. From what I've read, the only way they can know for sure is to do laprascopic surgery and take a look. If you don't find some relief soon, it might be something to think about. (((HUGS))) and I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Terrible muscle aches

I am not experiencing much pain at this point but I can relate to the whole digestive tract being off. It feels like my intestines will never be the same. I am on a good diet & exercising but I still can't leave the house until after I have had my morning bowel movement. When I have to go, I have to go then! I hope someone has some ideas because I would be interested in the answers too.

Re: Terrible muscle aches

So sorry to hear of all you are going through right now. Have you tried having someone rub icy-hot for you before bedtime on those sore leg muscles? I have had sore leg muscles since surgery off and on, and that makes a huge difference for me since I still can not soak in a hot bath just yet. I believe they sell icy hot in a patch form as well. Hope you feel better soon!

Re: Terrible muscle aches

A couple of months after my hysterectomy I started feeling very achy...all the time. I did lots of research and found that the water pill I take every day and my hrt patch both deplete the magnesium in the body. So I tried taking a magnesium supplement before bed. It made a world of difference for me! That tired and achy feeling I had went away within a couple of days...I started feeling better the next day. Talk to your doctor and see if this might help you as well.
