TVH 10 days post op severe back pain and heavy vaginal bleeding

I had a TVH with posterior and anterior repairs with a bladder sling on March 1, 2011 I spent one night in the hospital. Everything was going ok until last night when I started having very bad lower back pain and felt like I was severally constipated and couldn't move my bowels.. the pain quickly became unmangable and when I went to get up I noticed the toliet was filled with blood colored water so I went to ther ER. The ER dr said I probably have a mild case of constpation from the repair and the blood was from a hematomia that had formed on the vaginal cuff but it seemed every thing looked fine and all my repairs seem to be in tact.. Has anyone had anything like this happen?

Glad you went to the doctor. My friend had a similar bleeding experience. Ended up her stitches were fraying ... but since she did start clotting on her own while in the ER she was put back on total bedrest for an extra couple of weeks and did just fine....she is now 8 weeks post op and doing well
