6 weeks post hysterectomy with 1 ovary left... Still having constant abdominal pain and swelling and so tired! Help?!?

After 6 weeks of having my TLAH I am still having abdominal pain and severe swelling along with being very tired! I have only been able to leave the house 6 times and would then spend the next day and a half in bed. Sitting in a vehicle is hard, actually sitting upright anywhere is difficult and when I get up after sitting I feel like I have a watermelon in my stomach and when I start walking I feel like it will drop right out! I can only relate the feeling to how I felt when I was 8 months pregnant with all 4 of my children , but at least with that when they moved I would get some relief. I have a feeling I am ovulating on the side with the remaining ovary and in my head I am regretting leaving it if this is how it will be until menopause! I had the surgery to help with this and then it makes me scared that the endometriosis and scarring are coming back already. I had a lap to remove a cyst almost 2 years ago and when they did that they found endometriosis and scar tissue they did not know I had but explained all my symptoms and pain I was in and 6 months after the clean up it was back and with avengence. When they went in this time it had started fusing to my bowels! I know it's only 6 weeks but by now I thought I would be able to function and do my normal things around the house!

I am sorry to hear about your pain. I have been there more time then I like to be.

I thought I would be ok at 6 week also.

Surgery pain is a mess. We have to remember we had an organ taken out so that pain and the ENDO don't help either.

I end up taken 2 different pain pills within 3 to 4 months.

Try an ice pad or heating pad for the swelling belly and call your doctor for your pain.



It will get better.
