2 1/2 weeks finally!

Dear Heavens! If anyone had told me it would be this bad, I'm not sure I would've gone through with it! I had an Abdominal Hyster , (also a bladder tuck,)on 2-20 and have been in constant pain ever since! I feel like all I've done is complain. The sharp pains in my abdomen have been excruciating and double me over. I had major back surgery last year and it wasn't nearly this bad. (Go figure!)
Anyway, today, I almost feel like my old self. I feel the best I have since coming home from the hospital. I have yet to really attemp anything around the house yet. Dh, DS, and DD will not hear of me doing anything. The mess is driving me nuts. They are trying, but it is starting to need that "Mommy" touch.
I had my first hotflash yesterday and it scared the bejesus out of me! I thought that the house had caught on fire it was so hot! Man, not looking forward to a repeat of that one.
I love this site, reading the posts and learning about everyone's experiences. I read some yesterday and it made me feel a bit more normal. Does the fatigue ever quit? I had to lay down after my shower yesterday cause I was out of breath! It's kinda funny

I am two days behind you. I basically feel well, just in slow motion. My boyfriend will not hear of me doing anything either. The only diffrence is he is a clean freak. Although without my help is not such a clean freak !!
I went on my first outing yesterday. We went to a few stores. I did opt out on two of them. I really did not want to over due it. We also went to the local Casino for about a half hour and then to lunch. I was wore out when we got home but still it was nice to be out.
My big problem is swelly belly. It is big and it hurts to wear tighter clothing. But, to my delight, after reading some posts here, there are people that have the same problem. It made me feel much much better.
I have been taking ibprofen a couple times a day. I really do not do much. I do alittle dusting, clean out the dishwasher. But that is it.
Take care

I felt the same way about the surgery when I was in the early stages of recovery too! I am now at 8 weeks today and don't regret having it done. But, if you asked me about 4 weeks ago?! Complications didn't help; 2nd surgery for stent and then cystogram and cystoscopy to remove the stent at 5 weeks! I was a basket case for sure! LOL

I am finally seeing the benefits. Keep positive, I know it's hard, but you'll be feeling like yourself in no time.

GreenPea, I am soooo jealous of getting to go to a casino! can you say thearpy? I would love to go, but the closest one to us is 3 1/2 hrs away and that would be too much, plus I'm not sure about the "sitting" just yet. But, I'm still jealous! Thanks for replying and good luck to you!
I haven't gone to any stores yet, but have visited some internet malls, HA!, gotta love that online shopping! Yep, I'm definitely feeling better!

Mar,
Wow, you really went through it, didn't you? Glad to hear you're doing so well now. It gives me lots of hope. I feel so much better today, I've actually sat at the computer for quite awhile . Paid the bills,(blah!), went shopping (Yippee!) and walked out to the mailbox for the first time in awhile. I feel like such a big girl! Thanks for the encouragement and best of luck to you! No-utero

no-utero, I'm right behind you also! I had my ab. hyst.done on the 22nd, same as Danette! I HAD to reply to this because after my dr. visit yesterday, my hubby took me also to the casino!!! Didn't win anything, but it SURE felt great to get out around people. I want to tell you about this FANTASTIC light control panty I found at Wal-Mart! OMG< I can't wait to go back and buy more! Brand is Secret Treasures, and they are lace on the leg area, so sexy, yet SO comfortable because it really helps with the pain I also have in my belly. It keeps everything kind of sucked in, but without too much pressure, they are high rise, and I LOVE them!!! Brought my pain level down in my belly so much. Thought you guys might be interested. Have a GREAT day!

Janet,

Thank you for letting us know about the panty I am going to write it down and go find myself a pair. I bought larger ones before the surgery but alas they are too big in the Butt and not enough in the waist?! well they are for a few minutes anyway lol if I wear them too long I start swelling as the day goes by.
Thanks again!

2 1/2 weeks finally!

Janet,
Thanks for the info on the panties. My next trip I am going to search for them. Not to gross anyone out, but I have not been wearing any. Just because nothing is comfy. So, here I am in my flannel pants, but very comfy.
take care

Well, I must say Ladies, I did alot of smiling while reading through these posts.

I also "haven't been wearing any" because they go right across my incision. Flannel is my freind now. I'll be checking out Walmart for sure!

I have been having the pains...both in my belly and then in my head if I look too closely around the house. My DH is doing everything, which is great, and I just have to remember not to put my glasses on.

I've gone on 2 short outings, nothing too exciting. I am a casino nut and am jealous! I can tell I'm starting to feel better, because I've been thinking about those slots for a couple of days now! The nearest one is 2 hrs away, so as soon as I think I can stand the drive (and get my disability check) I'm sure I'll be bugging someone to go and I'll be on my way!!
