I'm freaking out
Ok so I'll be checking into the castle tomorrow and I'm starting to freak out!!! Not to mention starving from my clear liquids diet. I'll have to drink the mag citrate @ 6 then do my enema at 9...
Did everyone get the jitters before their procedure?
How long did ya'll stay in hospital following da vinci?
I thought it was home the same day, but if so I'm confused as to why the Dr office notified both my insurance companies and said it will be inpatient w/ a 2 day stay???
Please help

Yes, this is totally normal. For me, the day before was the absolute worst. Just think, your wait is almost over.
I had a TVH and don't know what's a typical hospital stay for a da Vinci procedure, but it's nice that you won't have to worry about being expected to leave too soon.
Hang in there, and we'll see you over on the post-op forum when you're on the other side!

Re: I'm freaking out
I too had a TVH so I am not sure. Possibly that's a max stay? It would be better to start off saying a 2 day stay, and then releasing you after a day if you're doing well, rather than being cleared for a day and then needing another one, ya know?
The jitters are normal, and I'll tell you that this is as bad as it gets. You have almost made it. You will feel amazing afterwards, just knowing that it's done and all the nerves are over with. Good luck tomorrow!!!! Come and see us on the other side! You're almost there!!!!!! Just a little bit longer. Hang in there!!!
Prayers for an uneventful surgery and speedy healing to you!!!

Re: I'm freaking out
I am now one week after surgery and I feel great. I'm off of meds and I'm not taking any laxatives. I went out to lunch with my husband and to the mall where I walked for fifteen minutes. I was a total wreck the day before my total hysterectomy. It's not pleasant, but a lot of women do it and we make it through. The enema prep was awful, but I survived that too. Your procedure will be past history in the blink of an eye. I promise you that you will get through this better than you think. I did and I'm feeling so much better every day. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery!
