Hello, I'm home!!!

Just a short note to say hi & I'm home.
Got home yesterday. Am resting, walking to living rm & back to b. rm, drinking my water. :-)
My computer is set up next to my bed, so I am lying back as I type this.
****Good tip for you LIW, if you stay online alot have yours moved next to your recovery bed so you can read & lay down at same time Next best thing to a Lap Top. :-)
No way would I be sitting at my desk right now. :-P

I am having some pain issues but the pain meds work well.
I ended up with a vertical incision. Do not even remember being in recovery rm at all. Was on the morphine pain pump.

My patholgy report come back before I left yesterday.
The cyst was a tumor, was told it was stage 1A.
They sent in on to a cancer patholgy lab to be looked at, no chemo unless it is upgraded by them.

To you LIW, the waiting is the hardest part! I am happy to be 3 days post-op. :-)
((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))) to all of you for being here for me!
Will post more on the post-op side when I am feeling up to it and will keep checking back in here, cheering the LIW on.

Read some of my fellow 7/2 sisters posts, glad to hear your home on the mend, rest up and take care, follow the princess guidelines!

Prayers for all,

Debbie [withope]

Hello, I'm home!!!

Welcome home, rest, walk, drink plenty of H20. I'm so happy I have a laptop. It sits right here in bed with me--LOL. It's been my lifesaver though.

Hello, I'm home!!!

Good to hear that you are home and doing a-okay! Take it easy and don't forget all of the bowel treatments...water, walk, stool softeners, prunes, fiber, gas-x, etc...!

I was thinking about you and how I bet your Mother was there with you during the surgery. I glad you are on the recovery side of surgery. That has to be a big relief to you!

Best Wishes

Hello, I'm home!!!

Welcome home from the castle, Debbie,
The waiting for results is the worst part of it all (in my opinion). I only got my results 10 days later...thank G-d...all was clear. I was already mentally prepared for radiation treatment. Just rest and keep yourself occupied with good reading material, visits from friends. I started a cross stitch project ( I have never done it before) and it was a blessing! It kept my time occupied. Keep us posted...we are here for you!
Take good care of yourself!

Hello, I'm home!!!

Welcome home, Debbie! I'm glad to hear all is well.

Pain meds are good! How did you like the morphine pump?

It sounds like you are taking it easy, which is good. Remember, you have just one chance to heal up the right way, and this is it.

Take care, and best wishes for good news from the pathology report. I am still waiting for mine...

Hugs!

Hi Diana, Sheva, tt259,cybrcat!

Thanks for the welcome home!

Every day gets better, can't believe how much better I feel today than I did yesterday!

((Diana)) That was so sweet what you said about Mom.((hugs))
How are you doing? Your near 30 days post-op now, right?
And Sheva so happy your path report come back clear! :-)
cybracat, waawwaaaaa I want the pump back now! LOL
I did not have any bad reaction to it at all, worked great!
Hope you hear good news on your path report it should be in soon.

The pain meds help. I had to call in today for a refill and they changed them to loratab 7.5. It is taking some adjusting too, there not as strong as what I was taking and he only called in 20- jeesh sure hope he does not think that is all I will need!

My path report was back on the 3rd day of my surgery. I knew the results before I went home. It has been sent to the MAYO clinic for a second opinion re: the staging. So I am holding my breath praying it is not upgraded. If it is upgraded I will have to have chemo.
{I've posted under cancer concerns}

One quick laugh for all of you, then I know we probably need to be moving over to the post-op side. Hard to get used to, done got comfy here on this board. :-)

As to the 'bowels" Diana mentioned-
The night before last, late in the night everything finally worked!
I pooped! I woke my DH up, scared him, he thought something was wrong. I said; clap your hands and say YEAH!! He looked at me, I said; I pooped!!! LOL you should have seen the relief on DH's face! :-)

Take good care of yourselves, drink that water, rest and walk a little.

Hello, I'm home!!!

Glad to hear everything came out okay! I worried my DH with my first poo too . I was actually crying out because it was so painful. He came into the bathroom and I said, "no problem here, just trying to go!" I KNOW he was glad when that stage was over with!

Don't worry if you have to refill the Lortab...just make sure you stay on top of the pain. The Dr's usually knock down the strength of the pain meds after the first perscription. Just remember to rest a lot- the pain meds have a way of making you forget that you really are sore and healing!

I am getting better each day. I was given orders to stop packing my wound and just let it drain away now. The Dr was amazed that he could barely see my incision. He said I was a great healer (thank you). Of course, I would be a miracle worker then if I hadn't had the seroma!

Take Care and see you on the post-op boards!

Hello, I'm home!!!

(((Debbie)))
It is so funny reading the different posts on BOWELS!!! I never thought in my wildest dreams that my focus and concern after a hysterectomy would be on pooping!!! Finally, after 5 weeks, I can say...I am back to normal! I think this has coincided with an increase in my activity level and lots of water drinking!
Keep up your great spirits...you seem to be a great trooper!
