My catheter went in after I was asleep. You really don't feel it at all. That being said, if you do feel like you have to go to the bathroom, be sure to tell your nurse because then they will fix it!

Also, at my pre-op appointment, I got two bottles of surgical scrub that I used in pre-op showers at home before going to the hospital, and also had the wipes once I got into pre-op. They will give you detailed instructions on how to properly use them.

I have read many and found it helpful before my surgery. I was very nervous before my surgery but once I was given the pre-op medication I do not remember anything after that.
