Just Not Enough Days

To do it all...

When I was first scheduled for my hysterectomy about 6 weeks ago, I thought it seemed so far away, how would I stay busy and distracted and not so focused on my upcoming surgery. It has indeed been a long wait, as I am sure all of you know the feeling, but now with my surgery only 6 days away, there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. Good thing for the insomnia I guess, gives me a few more hours.

I have cleaned and organized until I am about ready to call it quits. There are still some last minute things I will do over the weekend I am sure. Put clean sheets on the bed, wash up all the laundry and dishes, therapy vaccuuming one more time for a while, clean the toilets and tubs and pay all the August 1st bills. My hubby will be great during my recovery and knows he will be "Mr. Mom" for a while, but these are just some things I know I want done before I am down for a bit.

My Dad is going in for a heart cath tomorrow and my DH is having his Retirement Ceremony on Friday, and our course I haven't finished all my pre-surgery shopping, so my plate is pretty full.

I do have some pampering time scheduled too. Going for a pedicure and facial Saturday, then taking my daughter along on my haircut to get her first haircut.

Still have school shopping to do for my DS, but I think I'll be saving that for him and DH to do together one day while I am recoverying and sleeping.

Sorry for the rambling, with the date so close now, I am beginning to feel overwhelmed.

I am having my surgery on the 30th too. But unlike you, I have been procrastinating on the cleaning and organizing. I was feeling like once I started there was no going back - I didn't want to admit to myself I was having a surgery. Silly huh? Now I'm thinking "how am I going to get all the cleaning and organizing done before Monday ?".

I won't put off my pampering though - getting a massage on Friday.

My advice is usually to stay busy - I don't have to tell you that
So, instead, I'll say that you should just do the important stuff & let the rest go. You do sound prepared
