Jeans/Increased Bleeding

I am two weeks post-op today (TVH w/bladder repair). Sooooo.....I decided that I'm tired of wearing sweats and PJ bottoms and the other day bought a pair of elastic waist jeans.

My bleeding had been very light in the past few days. I did do a little too much on the weekend and it increased some, but I laid low yesterday and this morning the discharge was barely much at all....and light pink.

Anyway, wore my pull-on jeans today. Had to go to Costco with my dad to pick up some prescriptions. I drove. Although there is no zipper in the jeans, I guess they are tight enough to press on my tummy when sitting straight up. When we came back home, I saw that I was bleeding brighter red blood again and had a little cramping.

Is this normal? Does it mean I just need to wear looser pants for a longer time?>

Thanks, sisters, for any input!

It could be that or the driving, sitting, or walking around in Costco. It could be that you are doing too much too soon and it could be just that you are healing.

I have read that if you are filling a pad in an hour you need to go to the ER. If it's lighter but still bright red you might want to call your Dr and ask them.

Re: Jeans/Increased Bleeding

Sounds like too much too soon. You want to be really careful and extra conservative with your restrictions with a repair as you don't want to mess any of that up. This would include no bending, pushing, pulling, mopping, vacuuming, lifting etc. If it were me I'd lay low for awhile. You have just one chance to heal right, use it wisely.
