Bleeding 10 weeks straight

Hello, I'm 39 years old, married 19 years, no children, and do not want children. I started bleeding on 2-2-09, and haven't stopped!! Bleeding was heavy with large clotts, however, no pain (had this in May 08 also and was put on Seasonique, and bleeding stopped)* I went to my gyne on 2-18=09 she did a vaginal ultrasound and didn't see anything alarming such as fibroids, or abnormal uterine lining.* She said we'd do a D&C, did it on 3-9-09.* The bleeding slowed to a light period.* On 3-13-09 went in for results of D&C pathology report, no cancer, no abnormalities what so ever, hormones normal, she said there was no medical explination for what my body is doing. She told me to wait a month but to double up on the BC pills for 2 days and see if it stops the bleeding, it didn't but it did slow it, but it started up again. My next appointment is next week. The bleeding has gotten heavy again with medium to large clotts, can' t go 2 hours with out clotting and flooding, I've also started getting cramping and a very bad pain every once in awhile on my lower right side (ovary area)After bleeding for 10 weeks with no end in sight - I am done!* Am I crasy for wanting the big H????Please help!!Shannonps. sorry so long.

You are not crazy to want to stop bleeding! I know that gets on your nerves pretty fast! However, a hysterectomy could be a drastic option at this point, especially since you don't know what is causing the bleeding.

If a hysterectomy were a minor procedure with no side effects, that would be one thing. But it isn't. It is a major surgery that comes with a whole list of risks. Thus, it would be wise to try the less invasive measures first to see if one of them might work.

Have you considered a second opinion about what might be going on? Has Depo Provera been suggested? Is your doctor helping you manage your pain?

I would get a MRI of your Pelvis

pelvic ultra sounds do miss stuff a MRI picked up several things my ultra sound did not.
