Change of plans

I did it...I cancelled my open surgery scheduled in two weeks and scheduled a DaVinci in February. Stresses me out to have to wait even longer for this but thanks to this forum, I went ahead and took more time off work to get a second opinion. So hard doing things for ourselves isn't it. It does concern me that the first surgeon said my fibroids would likely be too big for DaVinci ("they might start with davinci but end up opening you up) but DaVinci surgeon was not at all concerned with my case. It is hard to know who to listen to but for me...I think the experience, skill and confidence of this particular surgeon is what just swayed me to change methods. Anyway...for anyone scared to get a second opinion b/c they are scared to change what is already booked...I'd say...try to get at least 1 other opinion. Feels better somehow.

Re: Change of plans

I'm glad you got the 2nd opinion. It's always a good idea, and sometimes you do get a better outcome. Best wishes for your surgery and recovery.

I'm very impressed! I always just go with the easiest way that requires the least initiative on my part, and there have been a few times I regretted that. But it is really hard to make the extra effort. Good for you making that extra effort!
