too much going on, need to control flo dates??

I have three weddings this summer, two nieces in June & July and daughter's in August. I am deathly afraid my flo will come during these times. And that would NOT be good! I have 2-3 VERY heavy days. What can I do to control when it starts? At 47, would BC pills work or is there something else? I wanted some options before I ask a doc.

Last winter I was planning on having a hyster but then started a new job in Jan, so I can't take time off now. Besides I finally have the cramping controled by taking Motrin, works wonders! But the heavy flow and clots are not fun! Everytime I sit for awhile then stand....watch out!

Any recomendations???

Have you tried using two super plus tampons and an overnight pad at the same time? I can usually get by for 1 1/2 to two hours using this method.

too much going on, need to control flo dates??

Dear Idette:

In my birth control pills years, I was able to take the pills continously to skip my periods... My doc suggested it, and I chose to have a period 1 or 2 times a year (just to see if it was still there... haha)...

This is something you MUST discuss with your doc tho, as it won't work if you take the pills that have a different hormone level every day (forgot the medical name)... it needs to be the ones with the same level in each pill.

Hope this info helps

Have you tried Aleve (naproxen sodium)? On my especially heavy days, I take 3 every 8 hours. My doctor recommended that . It really does help a lot!
You may also want to increase the amount of vitamin C you take during your cycle. (see link below)
