Sounds funny, but it could happen

One of the tools I've collected in preparation for my December 12 ascension to Princess-hood is a grabber. I've been playing with it to see how I can use it. If I drop something, cool!! The grabber is there for me to easily pick it up.

But then a thought occurred to me . . . what if I drop the grabber?

I'll bet that many of us, once post op, will have some funny stories to share. I expect there can be levity in most every situation.

Blessings and smiles to all sisters!!

One of the best things I found was a Surgery & Recover CD by Dr. Steven Gurgevich. I played this for 10 days before surgery and then after and found I had no pain. It calmed me, helped me sleep and over all I feel I am feeling so good because of it. It's part of a healing with Hypnosis Series and he is partnered with Dr. Andrew Weil, MD. You can find more info at www.tranformation.com.
It was the best investment!

Maybe you should buy two grabbers

I'm debating whether I should buy a grabber .. . that is what husbands and kids are for

Who knew a grabber would be my favorite toy????
Funny you should mention dropping the grabber--did that this morning at the side of the bed. Tried manipulating it upward with my feet (you should have seen that!!). Finally, gingerly reached over and picked it up.

Unfortunately, I don't have a DH or kids here to help. My Dad has been helping since I came home from the Castle but I think he's not quite sure what to do for me. I'm usually the one taking care of him!!

Maybe we should put a wrist strap on the grabber???? (not really--you know I could never get down on the floor!!)

Humor is the best medicine! Keep smiling and laughing!!

I love my grabber. I have two of them. Unfortunately-the kids love using it too, so I never know where both are!! I had the problem with dropping the grabber. Had to leave the stuff I dropped until hubby came home. What else could I do??

I do recommend them, and I like the wrist strap idea. Or maybe get some velcro sticky things and attach one to grabber and one to couch or bed or wherever you will be recovering. The velcro probably wouldn't hold the full weight of the grabber, but you could leave it unfolded and lean it against the couch or wall or something and attach the velcro so it holds it while leaning. Could work!!

meatball, I got my grabber at a local Kitchen Connection outlet store for $9.99. This web site has one, but I think it's more.

Oh yes. The wonderful grabber. I used it frequently. I still use it if I don't feel like bending over. Another thing I used regularly when I first came home from the castle was a cane. It helped me to balance myself. Plus I was home alone during the day and needed support to move around. I have the metal adjustable type which we had from DH's knee surgery decades ago.
