HRT Question, need info
I started taking the HRT Premarin 0.625 mg two days after the surgery and have continued for the past 11 days since arriving home from the hospital. I am experiencing hot flashes though. They are not as bad as before the surgery when I was having the Lupron injections, but they are still here and I want them gone.
Does anyone know if it takes awhile for the therapy to kick in, as I'm thinking maybe I need something stronger?

HRT Question, need info
I'm also on premarin 0.625. My dr. told me it took about 3 weeks for the hrt to full kick in, in some cases, like mine, it took longer. I think mine fully kicked in around my 6 week period. I still have hot flashes, but they aren't as bad as they use to be!
Just give it a little time, you're still fairly new to it.
Best wishes
Wendy

HRT Question, need info
What's really wierd is that I started Vivelle Dot on surgery day and I seemed to be cold more often. Once in a while, my face will feel a little flushed.

HRT Question, need info
I too, started the vivelle dot the day of surgery. I was doing okay until yesterday. I had only had some small hot flashes, nothing makor. But yesterday, OH BOY! Man, for some reason I got soooo sick in the afternoon. I had a migraine hit me HARD, started vomiting, had severe nausea, and the hot flashes from hades! I ended up having to take 2 phenergan to even put a dent in the nausea. In the middle of the night I woke up and my shirt was soaked with sweat. I was miserable. Today has been better though. I'm not sure if the migraine and nausea are horomone related or not, I am just a few days out of surgery, but oh lordy, I was miserable last night. Worst night by far. I hope this isn't a preview to what I have to look forward to. I had been doing so well.

HRT Question, need info
I take Premarin .625 also 3 a day, I never experienced any hot flashes on the Premarin, but I did when I was on Estratest. They said with my age, I would need the second hormone, and as soon as I started Premarin, I didn't have any. I just have no libido at all. I stay cold alot, like all the time.

HRT Question, need info
Hi. I would say you're probably still adjusting to the hormones. I started on the same dose and was good for about two months, then started having hot flashes. Called my doc, he upped the dosage and I've been okay since then. Heck, he even gave me a free sample for a month of that dose before calling in a prescription to see how I'd do. If you have concerns don't be afraid to call your doc and let him know what's going on. He's the best one to advise you. Hope you're feeling better soon.

HRT Question, need info
Hello Bytautas,
I aksed the same question a few days ago, and most responses, said yes, you still get hot flashes while on HRT. There is a separate posting board on this site called Hormone Jungle that they directed me too that answered allot of questions for me, it might be helpful to you
also.
And yes, I am still getting hot flashes - 1 month since Hyst. on Premarin 0.3mg since day after. I aksed my Sister (who had a TAH/BSO over ten years ago in her early 40's) if she got hot flashes and still does, and she said yes. She goes in spirts and sometimes can remember getting them once a day. Hope that helps. I can also tell you from reading Hormone Jungle - every one of us is different, anad if you feel you should talk to Dr. about it - please do!
