6 Days post hysterectomy--OMG! Bottom Pain

I'm 6 days post op and have been doing ok considering. I can't believe I'm even talking about this. Has anyone experienced pain in your bottom (rectum)? The first bowel movement after surgery was rough. Very hard and difficult to pass. Started stool softener and now it comes out but I have this crazy pain that shoots through me. Passing gas is even difficult. Sometimes when I sit down it hurts to sit on my bottom at first. Ugh! I want to be a man in my next life. Lol!

Hi Angelin,

Yes.....I had the same problem. I took my gas and stool softners on time (didn't skip a beat) Drinking a lot of water helped me as well. I noticed when I walked around the house it helped me pass the gas as well. I'm in my 3rd week and it gets better.. I hope you feel better!

6 Days post hysterectomy--OMG! Bottom Pain

No worries, same thing happened to me about a week post op. Pressure in my Bottom, was hard to sit for long period of time. I too kept up with gas x and stool softner, I also took miralax a couple of times and that helped. Also, try sitting on a heating pad when sitting down. I am 2 weeks post op and that pressure has gone away. It gets better everyday. Remember to rest your body!
