Re: Did Pre-op yesterday

I totally understand where you're coming from with the lack of funds problem. But from what my doctor told me I won't need much. Not counting the magnesium citrate my doctor says I will have to take take the night before surgery, I will probably be spending $15 or less. That's not bad.

Strangely, I've gone through pre-op (3 wks ago), discussed it with the doctor (last wk), but still haven't been scheduled for surgery.

Good luck with your surgery! All of you.

Re: Did Pre-op yesterday

I agree with the posts saying you should request a pre-op. My TAH/BSO is a few weeks away and both the doctor AND the hospital scheduled pre-ops in the week prior. Can't be too thorough where your health is concerned, and it's a great chance to ask questions.

Good luck to all you ladies coming up this week. I wish I didn't have to wait a month! It's crazy-making and I really want to get this behind me.

Re: Did Pre-op yesterday

I'm going to call her today. She's really great...I'm wondering, though, if my last appt where we finalized having a hysterectomy, talked about options, questions, scheduled the date, where she told me about getting preop clearance, etc...I wonder if THAT was the preop? I hope not -- I went with my toddler and I got to ask/listen to very little.

She's so nice, though. If that was my appointment (I'm not going to be here) then I think I'll jot down some questions and just have her call me at her convenience. She always does (end of the day, but hey, she DOES call)

Re: Did Pre-op yesterday

UPDATE: I got a letter from the doctor's office explaining everything. Their "preop" is the blood work, which I'm having done on vacation in Florida. There's a light bowel prep, no enema thank GOD, but that's it. I don't have to go in for anything else.

I'll still make a quick question list to send her/call her with.
