TAH vertical incision placement

I guess I thought the incision would be in the middle, but it's slightly off to the left side. Is that normal?

I had my vertical cut straight middle from belly button down to pubic. They just used my previous 2 c section scar.

I didn't have any previous scar. Wonder why he went off center like that... Curious stuff!

I could just ask him I suppose... Don't want it to come out like a complaint though.

My hysterectomy was almost 2 years ago and I was 48. If you leave the scar to dry and heal perhaps it will be like mine and be almost invisible. It is a big scar, but it will fade, and leaving it alone was best for me and is what I always reccomend. Honestly, it will just disappear if you leave it.....

Oh I'm not messing with it... it's a clean good looking cut actually. I just didn't expect it to be off center how it is... about an inch to the left of center for some unknown reason.

My vertical incision is to the left of my belly button also. I thought I was the only one. I didn't ask. Just that is how it was when I woke up.

Oh thank you so much febesd! It is GREAT knowing I'm not the only one. Since there's at least two of us, maybe there's a wonderful reason and we're so lucky to be off-center, LOL! (Hey a girl can dream)

Thanks for letting me know. TAH/BSO also - haven't had any real symptoms yet and I'm more than a week out... that is REAL luck I guess!

I think maybe they do it off center so that your belly looks better once it heals? My first c section was done in 1978 nd it goes from belly button straight down. My belly never flttened out there. Even when I weighed 110 lbs (I am only 5 ft), my belly looked like a mini butt crack. A scar with humps on either side. Lol

I bet yours won't do that.

LOL! That's what mine looks like as well!!! Just didn't have the guts to say it!

Yeah my husband and I quite a matched pair. I have front and back butt cracks and he has chest and back hair. Hard to tell if we are coming or going. LOL
