Migraines anyone?

Hi ladies! I have had migraines for years now and was hoping that with the surgery they might get better. They had actually gotten better for awhile before the surgery- probably 1 every month or so. Since the surgery they have not only increased in frequency but also have gotten SO much stronger. I didn't have any the first 2 1/2 weeks post-op but in the past 3 1/2 weeks I have had 4!!!! These are worse than anything I have ever known. I have 3 kids to take care of, one that isn't in school yet and it's ball season so we are at the fields appr. 4 days a week. I don't have time for this!!!! My thought is maybe it's hormone related but I kept my ovaries (everything else has left the building). Any thoughts before I call my dr? Oh, also I have been increasingly dizzy lately too so maybe that has something to do with it? Thanks!

Re: Migraines anyone?

Hi Weibs,

I've also had migraines for years so I sympathise. I've been taking Feverfew tablets every day as a preventative measure for the last 12 years and they do seem to help with the frequency and intensity of migraines and I don't get them as often now.

I had a TAH and kept my ovaries, but didn't find my migraines changed at all after the op. However, my reason for replying is that even though I kept my ovaries I still went into 'surgically induced menopause' and am now on ERT. If you are feeling dizzy too, it may well be hormone related and I think you should speak to your doctor and get it checked out. Good luck!
