Should I push myself to walk and do more 6 weeks after hysterectomy surgery?

I went through a severe depressive episode when I was 41. This is one of the things I learned: even if you don't *feel like* getting out of bed and doing anything, if you pick yourself up by the scruff of the neck and get out there and get moving, you will feel better. Start slow and (important!) give yourself a pat on the back (or a hug!) for every small step forward.

When I was recovering from my hysterectomy at 55, I found that a lot of the same lessons applied.
