Is it Cancer? Do some people have a harder time than others with pain?

I am not in a panic, but I feel really pain-loaded and SO TIRED ALL THE TIME. I have talked to a couple of women on here and they do not have to take the pain meds. that I am on. I was infact taking what they were on a year ago but they stopped working for pain relief about a year ago. If I do not take these pills, I cannot walk, and all I want to do is curl up and suck my thumb. I am slated for the hysto on April 21. but I am on the equivilant of morphine (toradol 40mg/day) with break-though pain relief (Tylenol 3) and the odd hospital visit for pain control as well. They make my brain fuzzed, but I still feel the pain.

CAN DOCTORS MISS STUFF like cervical, ovarian, and other types of cancer? Or do they do the proper testing right away?

I have been diagnosed with ando, and endo. could there be more?

If you have been told other things after your hysto, did they provide additional treament in a timely fashion?

Hey Shallyjean
Your pain meds are about the same as mine. Maybe we have the same doc???? We are both in Winnipeg
I take tylenol 3 every 4 hrs, and toradol 3 times a day. Yes, I feel a bit fuzzy, but it's enough to take the edge off the pain so I can concentrate on something else for awhile. But no, it doesn't completely kill the pain.

I hope that you are seeing an actual gynecologist. Do you have regular pap smears? If so, this is how they detect cervical cancer. I believe ovarian cancer must be proven by biopsy.

If you want to send me a personal message, please do and we can discuss things more privately. Just click on the PM option under my username. I can always give you my doc's name for a referral if you want to get a second opinion.

Hi Winnipeg Girls,

Shally.. everyone's pain threshold is different so please don't compare your pain with someone elses.

Make this surgery as positive as you can and that will help a whole lot. You are getting rid of your pain forever!
As far as the cancer thing. Mine was undetected only because of where it was on my Cervix. It was at the top corner and probably would have showed up on my pap this year.
You should go for regular paps after your surgery. They will still pap your vaginal cuff.

I went and got alot of books to read during my recovery on the menopause and hyster subject. It really helped knowing about what was going on. This site really helped me alot too.

If either of you want to talk feel free to PM me.

Good Luck with your surgeries!
Please rest and recover. You only have one chance to heal.

Talk to you soon!

Michelle
