Just got back from my Pre-op...

it was a 70 minute drive to the hospital - when i got there i was called to have bloods taken by a nice guy called Bill who assures me i won't have a bruise! (i'll have a look in a minute and see) Then they said
"Goodbye see you saturday at 7.30"

- I looked a bit shocked "You were sent a book, the information you need is all in there.." The nurse smiled kindly

She also twirled round on the spot and said - look at me, your surgeon is lovely he did mine too!

"But the sisters have all been given stuff to scrub with and things to poke up and stuff to drink that does nasty stuff and sometimes you mustn't shave your legs or use moisturiser..." I mumbled

She just smiled again and assured me it would all be fine...

She probably called the psychiatric team after i left!
Or maybe she thinks we are sisters of a religious order!

It was a long trip for 4 phials of blood!

UPDATE:
just looked - no bruise yet - well done Bill! Pity the tape he used to hold the cotton wool on seems to have removed most of my skin as i pulled it off! Ah well, you can't have everything...

Take care Sisters,
and have a good day

Chicky

Just got back from my Pre-op...

Hi Chicky,

Glad to hear all went well. I usually get bruises from needles too so I know how exciting it is when you don't!!

Take some time these next few days before you go in to have some quality "me" time. Have lunch with some friends, take in a movie, get a manicure....just enjoy.

Sending big s and

Blessings

((( Chicky ))) , yea for Bill - no bruise sounds good to me. I had a nurse bruise me from wrist to elbow once, doing a routine blood test.

I had quite a bit more done at my pre op but have heard from others that only blood work was done. The pre ops do seem to vary a lot depending on the dr and what all is to be done.

I didn't have to do a bowel prep at home either but was given an enema at the hospital the morning of my surgery. It wasn't too bad. Read your book, hopefully it'll tell you what to expect

Best wishes.

Thanks ladies!

The book says, don't eat or drink past midnight... see you at 7.30!

As i'm not an early breakfast kind of girl.... prefering a snack for elevenses, I don't technically even have to miss a meal!
Fantastic

So what shall i have for friday night's supper then... Mexican, Chinese, Indian? I'm certainly not cooking that's for sure!

best wishes, chicky!

Brilliant - let someone else do the cooking and washing up! I vote for Indian - a bit of curry - or even Thai. I will insist on either Thai or Italian before for my "last supper." I'm so glad your date is finally arriving as I've been following your posts. Do write back when you are up to it after your day and tell us all about it!

Love-n-hugs - cj

I was also stunned when a nurse from the hospital called and told just don't eat or drink after midnight and no make-up. I said "I don't have to come for testing, no bowel prep. no stinky soap to wash with?". There going to take my blood at the hospital before I have the surgery and thats it. Good luck on Saturday!!!
