How long does low back pain last?

I had my TVH last Wednesday, so it has been a week and a day. My lower back down to my tailbone is very sore and was quite swollen. The swelling has gone down but my lower back hurts worse than anything. It hurts to sit and walk and stand. Laying flat on my back feels best for some reason. How long is this supposed to last? What can I do for it other than ice packs? I used heating pads at first but it was when it was swollen and I think the heat made it worse. Maybe I should try that again now that the swelling has gone down.

How long does low back pain last?

Hello I had my LAVH 2 days before you and I am still having back pain. The doc. told me that my back muscles were working overtime for the lack of stomach muscles, or something to that scenario. I have been using a heating pad that seems to help, and I asked him to give me muscles relaxers today which he did and that has helped. He said it could be several weeks, but that it does get better. I hope that helps.

How long does low back pain last?

I had back pain for about a week after my TVH. My doctor told me that the position I was in during surgery tends to cause a back ache for some women. I guess I was just one of those lucky ones. I found that alternating heat and ice worked best for me.

If it doesn't feel better soon, give your doctor a call. I hope you feel better soon!

s, Deb

How long does low back pain last?

I had a TAH and my back still aches all the time. I think it's because we try to overcompensate by bending so we don't pull on our tummys. Our back takes the brunt of it.
