Benefits of drinking Ensure

I am excited to share what I think is a great tip since
I have benefitted from everyone who has been kind
enough to share info and experiences. I don't have much in the info and experience dept. so am thrilled to

nun, she is a PhD and an RD (registered dietition)
who works in a hosp. LIW...she says it really helps to
drink a can of ENsure every day Pre-op and continue
drinking a couple cans the days after surgery when we might not want much to eat. The vit. & nutrients will help build us up. There are lots of flavors and she suggests blending it with yogurt. She says Dr. don't usually think to tell patients this but all her non emergency patients do this and give this partial credit for their good recovery.Ensure is expensive but she says sometimes it can cut having to stay an extra day in the Castle and that saves a whole days co-pay expense.
Also, drink some water just before the Pre-op cut off time for fasting so you are not dehydtated.
Anyone know about cutting open a Vit E capsule
and putting it on the abdominal incision to help it heal
and scar less?
