taking premarin for bleeding

I had my hysterectomy May 1st and kept my ovaries. I have been lightly bleeding since my 2 week post op. I went for my 6 week and found out that 2 stitches in my vaginal wall were not healing. I then was put on premarin vaginally for the stitches to heal. I am going crazy with the premarin I have the feeling now of my period I am eating like crazy I have mood swings. I feel the vaginal discomfort but I want to heal. Is anyone else feeling this way??

Re: taking premarin for bleeding

Hi cbdb87

So funny that I came accross your post - I was about to post a similar question myself.

I had my 6wk check-up yesterday & the Dr found a couple of undissolved stitches he wanted cleared up so has put me on Ovestin vaginal cream for 2 weeks. He said this form of Oestrogen should increase the healing process & move things along very quickly.

While I don't think I'll have a huge amount of hormonal symptoms as I'm only on the cream for 2 weeks I did notice that my bladder was quite tender last night when I used the cream for the first time.

How long are you on your cream for?

Re: taking premarin for bleeding

I am on the cream for 2 weeks also I wonder if your brand is better than premarin. I have only taken it for 2 times and have already had all of these symptoms. I feel like I am going to be on my period My side is aching with my ovary and all the fun stuff to go with it. I FELT SOOOO GOOD for 6 weeks I was out riding my bike just 2 weeks after surgery. Now I am tired again and feel like crud. I am going to take the medication though because I want the spots to heal so I can get off of the medicationl. Keep me posted on how your stuff does maybe I can switch if this is not better.
