I am sorry about your diagnosis and that you need surgery. It is a very hard thing when we feel we have no control and the decision is out of our hands. I felt the same way. I have felt angry, resentful and sad. I had cervical dysplasia and HPV+. I have always been a very sexually responsible person and have only had 3 partners in my 46 years. I was given the virus by my DH (of course, how could he know?), developed pre-cancer, had the hysterectomy (which I desperately didn't want) and now not doing so great after surgery. It's hard not to blame him, because I feel the need to blame somebody for all this I've been through. I can't feel anger at him for long though, as he is literally the perfect man and would do anything for me. I have come to realize that random, unpleasant things happen. And this was my turn.

It ok to feel these emotions, and to grieve our uterus and our fertility. It's part of the process. As for post op... all we can do is be informed, do our research, ask our questions, and then trust in our surgeon. No one can say for sure how we will feel after recovery, or what sex will be like. There's no guarantees and you will find that we all have unique hysterectomy experiences. But the odds are in your favor and most women are glad they had the surgery. Wishing you the best.
