bitter sweet dilema

I have been trying to sort something out in my mind these past few days and thought I should bring it to you good sisters.
I'm hoping my husband hears this week about a new job out west that he has applied for but it leaves me with a decission to make.
I'm due to have surgery this Thursday and I really don't want to cancel it and have to find a new doc in a new area. I've waited for so long for this week to get here. Any one know how long we have to wait before we can take on a long trip?

Thanks
Stephanie (LAVH)

Stephanie, I probably would have wanted to wait about 6 weeks or so at least before I did any major travel. It was almost that long before I could stand to be in a car for any length of time, especially having to sit very upright with a seatbelt. I guess it also depends if you are driving or flying. I think I also would have preferred to have the surgery done now rather than later -- relocating to a new area is hard enough without feeling lousy and trying to find a new doctor.

cjcj, thanks for your comments.
I think I know what I need to do which is go ahead with the surgery and follow my husband at the end of this school year. Its just hard sometimes seeing the whole picture when your in the middle of it all.
Its nice to have someone else tell you your right in your discission
I just hope recovery goes quickly.
Thanks
Stephanie

You probably won't be up to a really long trip for a couple of months ( I know I wasn't ). And if packing and moving is involved, even more reason to wait to join your DH. You will need to be careful not to overdo and give yourself time to heal after your surgery.

I'm sending good wishes to you and your DH - I hope that everything works out well for you both.

Thanks everyone, Its nice to hear your thoughts and see this from different views, all very helpful.
After my pre-op visit with my doc yesterday we are going with the surgery and I'll stay here till the end of this school year ( I have a 16 yr old son ) and my DH will come back then and finalise the moving. I feel a lot better now the decision has been finalised.
Now I have to deal with the feelings of preparing for surgery. eek!!!
