stomach cramps

Hello,
This is my first message on this forum. Sorry for my bad English, i live in Belgium(Europe)
My abdominal hysterectomy was on 26 aug 2010,
i am already feeling a lot better than 1 week ago.
I really felt miserable, it was very difficult to stand up because of my swollen abdomen. Turning myself in my bed was difficult en painfull.

I am still worry about the following things:
1. When i touch my skin , right above the incision, i still don't feel anything. Can anybody tell me when i can feel the touch again?
2. I had to throw up already 2 times because of serious stomach cramps, can this be a consequence of the general anesthesia i had?

Last week i could also not breathe properly, the breathing
stayed very high and superfacial, almost like hyperventilation. This problem is solved now.

Thanks for your support and next time, i hope i can tell you it's getting a lot better already.

Greetings, Missluna

Re: stomach cramps

Hi miss luna
This sickness and throwing up, is that today? if you did not have it before and it started today then I do not think it has anything to do with the operation. It could simply be a virus or something you ate? If you worry, it is always wise to call your doctor.
I do not know when the numbness near the insicion will go away, they have cut through nerves, and these things take time to heal. that may also be something to ask your doctor next time you see him.
I hope you feel better soon, beterschap!

Re: stomach cramps

:Hi:
I have numbness too. My doctor said it could take up to a year if the nerves are going to reconnect. He said sometimes you always have the numbness just because of the nerve damage. I am expecting that as I had numbness that did not recover from a prior operation.

Good luck with your recovery and take care

Re: stomach cramps

I had a c-section almost 8 years ago and I still can't feel the bottom half of my stomach , It's normal , they cut the muscles and nerves...Some get feeling back , some don't...
I had really bad breathing problems when I got home , I had air bubbles that traveled in to my shoulder and HURT for about 4 days...It get's better..
About the Throw-up , cramp thing , I don't know! Maybe give the doc a quick call and ask what he thinks!! I hope you are healing well and feel better soon!!!
