11mo post op and fatigue and discomfort returns??
It's been 11 months since my TAH - horizontal incision hip to hip. In general i've been doing well I guess. I'm very active compared to most, but not nearly as active as I used to be .
Anyway the last two weeks have been odd in that it feels like I've gone back 6+ months in healing. My abs are often swollen and tender (actauly the tender part has never gone away), I get random "stabs" of pain and the overwhelming I must lay down NOW fatigue has returned.
Anyone else have this? Any thoughts? Is this just another healing phase? I so want this to be done so I can once again fit into my clothes and resume the activity level I did just a year ago.

11mo post op and fatigue and discomfort returns??
I had a rough time until about 3 mos. Thought that was my turning point, but am at 6 mos and haven't really worked a full month all together since surgery. Very tender lower abdomin all the time. Swelling and some tenderness through mid abdomin. Cysts keep developing, growing, and bursting even though I am taking birth control. Constantly feel pain as if I have torn inside. Lots of nerve pain. Dr. has tried a bladder pill thinking my bladder was damaged even though i have had no issues w/it. He sent me to a surgeon who had me get a ct scan and found no issues other than possible slow colon which is not uncommon so he thinks it's musculoskeletal/nerve damage from surgery. I guess the nerves just can't regenerate, but they continue to try and that causes stabbing, searing, tearing, and shooting pain. It's looking like I may need to remove ovaries after all and have pain mgr deaden lower abdominal nerves! Sucks to have a 2nd surgery when I practically begged him to take it all! And what happens with nerve deadening? Will I lose feeling in the surrounding area?? Very frustrated and so ready to have my life back. I wish I'd never had this done!! The only benefit has been no period, but I'm stuck home, on meds, and in pain with no idea what happens next or when it will ever be over!

I had that feeling about that time in my TAH recovery (kept ovaries). I don't know if it's related but I remember posting here about it.
I resumed taking my multivitamins and watching my health. It helped some but I didn't feel better until my ovaries were removed.

11mo post op and fatigue and discomfort returns??
How long did u have to wait to get them to remove them? Did they go through your abdomin again? Did u have any hormonal issues? This is why he insisted I keep them. He worried I may have to take a pill. O_O So now he's got me on birth control so I'm... taking a pill! It's funny, but not. :/

4 years between surgeries. My 2nd surgery was laproscopic and a total walk in the park compared to the hysterectomy.
I am on HRT. I use Vivelle Dot, a transdermal patch.

I am with you. I still get extreme fatigue, muscle aches especially in my thighs and calves, difficulty staying asleep at times, mood swings, breast pain, weight gain (15 pounds) It has been one year ago today since my Hysterectomy. I hope this all stops soon. Take care you are not alone.

11mo post op and fatigue and discomfort returns??
Wow, I didn't really relate the leg aches to this. I have gained about 15 pounds since surgery so I assumed aches and pains were because of that. Also, the fatigue and frustrating bouts of insomnia have been driving me nuts. I assumed that was from being stuck home and being bored and restless. I have horrible cabin fever.
None of our symptoms are new news to the doctors. I don't understand why they can't get us right the first time around! Grrr... :/

Re: 11mo post op and fatigue and discomfort returns??
Thanks for sharing your stories - good to know I'm not the only one. I too would like to know why they don't have solutions for long term "swelly belly".
I'm a fitness instructor/personal trainer and I've also put on 20+ pounds since last year. I do exercise and make healthy meal choices (most of the time ) and I know my body well enough to know its not an occasional treat that is causing my pants to not fit and my belly to grow throughout the day.

There was a very interesting thread here recently about adrenal fatigue. You should check it out.
